RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qulifications are held periodically at the Pelican Centre.

National Pool Lifeguard qualification – This course is delivered over 5 days and covers a wide range of CPR, First aid and in water skills. All our lifeguard courses come with an additional Automated External Defibrillator qualification, PXB Qualification and either First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).
The NPLQ award is Valid for 2 years
The EFAW/FAW/AED award is Valid for 3 years
Paediatric First aid – Paediatric First aid is a course with a mix of Theory work and practical work. The course is delivered over 2 days and looks at various types of injuries and medical problems and teaches you how to deal with these. You will also learn how to maintain life support on a child or infant.
Emergency first Aid - Emergency first aid is a mix of Theory and practical work delivered over a 6 hour course which teaches you CPR, recognising and treating shock, minor injuries and external bleeds.
Community courses - These courses are aimed at teaching the community Lifesaving skills of CPR, Drowning and how to deal with choking with Adults, Children and babies. Each session usually last around 2 hours to learn all of these skills.
